We're building ground-breaking spatially intelligent real-time experiences - body tracking, interactive 3D, computer vision—for the devices people already own. Join an elite team that’s shipping regularly. Work from an awesome Frank Gehry-designed loft on Venice Beach.

What You’ll Do at Spatial Magic

As a Unity Gameplay Engineer and Technical Designer focusing on spatial computing at Spatial Magic, you will be a core contributor, merging Unity game development with real-time computer vision and AI. Your expertise will be crucial in creating the compelling and intuitive experiences that define our platform.

  • Develop and architect high-performance game features, mechanics, and systems using Unity (C#) for spatial computing environments.
  • Optimize graphics and gameplay performance to ensure smooth, high-fidelity experiences on real-time platforms.
  • Integrate and leverage real-time data from our AI and computer vision pipeline (3D tracking, motion analysis) directly into game logic and visualization.
  • Design, implement, and maintain core game infrastructure, ensuring seamless, low-latency communication with our backend and tracking systems.
  • Collaborate closely with our team to translate cutting-edge technology into fun, responsive, and immersive gameplay.
  • Research, prototype, and implement innovative game and graphics techniques unique to full-body spatial computing and AI-driven rendering.

Who You Are

We want people who love to reason from first-principles, have a bias for building over having endless meetings, and are excited to bring new culture shaping products to life.

  • 5+ years of experience in professional game development, interactive applications, or real-time simulation, with a focus on core gameplay or rendering.
  • Strong expertise in Unity (C#), with a deep understanding of game architecture, performance profiling, and optimization on various platforms.
  • Familiarity with the challenges and techniques of developing for spatial computing or XR platforms.
  • Experience with real-time physics and physic-based gameplay, animation systems, or advanced visual effects programming.
  • Knowledge of shaders (HLSL/GLSL), GPU programming (CUDA, Vulkan, or Metal), and the ability to optimize rendering pipelines.
  • A strong passion for creating groundbreaking gaming experiences and pushing the boundaries of technology in the intersection of AI, gaming, and fitness.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience integrating computer vision frameworks into a live game environment.
  • An interest in spatial intelligence, music and gaming.
